The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

A solid film. Presented the Four as a family unit that I've wanted to see, and gave off a very warm and cozy feel. However, its weaknesses were with the rest of the cast feeling neglected and underplayed. Fully realized Galactus was awesome.

To be clear, I'm not saying Rocks is the ultimate villain in history that was propegated by the in-universe government. But Rocks isn't a perfect angel either.

And as for reacting poorly, any one would react poorly to being attacked/betrayed, regardless of personal attachment. I wouldn't say I have a personal relationship with my boss, but I'd be mad at them if they tried to stab me.

As for why these characters would follow him, Stussy mentions how profitable working with Rocks is. If I'm allowed an educated guess that isn't literally written, they also may have followed him out of recognition of his power/vision of siezing power.

In the same scene, Rocks also threatened to get rid of Kaido, showing more care towards Harald than him.

I'm not saying Rocks doesn't have people he cares about. I just don't think he cares about his crew (minus Harald if he DID choose to join it).

Rocks literally attacked Kaido for making a (admittedly cruel) suggestion, without Kaido acting violent.

Rocks still treated his crew extremely harshly and poorly, ranging from attacking them or telling them to leave his crew if they don't like his ideas. Shiki even says none of them would care if Rocks died.

I think it might be a bit extreme to say that Rocks cared that much for his crew? I don't think he's shown much affection towards them, even in the Zoro/Sanji "bickering affection" kind of way? He's shown more friendship with Harald though.
