Charlie Kirk’s operation was built on a model where he’d performatively humiliate liberals for cheering conservatives. It wasn’t dialogue, it was just putting liberals in the stocks under the guise of “debate.” The debate format was chosen precisely so it could be characterized as free speech.
These people have smarted themselves into the dumbest fucking arguments.

Determining whether someone is "doing politics the right way" depends almost entirely on the content of their speech! If someone lies constantly and endorses authoritarians that's not practicing good politics.

AP VoteCast now thinks partisanship of voters in the 2024 general election was the same as the 2022 midterm (R+5), vs R+1 in 2020. If correct, likely due to a combination of turnout changes (higher R turnout vs D) and attitudinal changes (voters in general got more right leaning)
