All I want to do in life is write a hit country music song that features a distinctive and somewhat rare name in the title that propels that name in popularity as a baby name for one, maybe two, years, making those people's birth years instantly guessable, forever. A common dream, I imagine.

In an exciting rare display, a Noe Valley labradoodle, of which only 4,783 are known to exist within the 1 square mile surrounding 24th and Castro, tugs on its leash, turns its head sideways in absolute confusion and then lunges to eat a half-eaten fro-yo off the sidewalk. Nature — amazing.

Today’s National Dog Day? Well well well. Good thing he can’t read.

One of my favorite things to do is to go to the grocery store hungry. One of my least favorite things to do is to have gone to the grocery store hungry.

If national media really wanted to do an exposé on the dangers of living in S.F., they’d park a camera at a busy intersection and watch drivers recklessly drive their cars around pedestrians. The next concern would be a far far second place, and I’m not even sure what it would be.

I think if Janet Leigh had seen the movie Psycho, she probably would *not* have stopped for the night at the Bates Motel.

As someone who walks a dog around SF for long stretches, I’d love if we had more businesses where you could walk up to a street-side window. Coffees to go seems to be a missing niche.

One thing that other sports should take from baseball is having the coaches dress exactly like how the players are dressed. Football coaches, full pads. Boxing, silk shorts and gloves. Swimming, etc.

When Siri responds with a clear authoritative-yet-friendly humanlike voice that says, “I don’t have an answer to that. Is there something else I can help you with?”, I really feel the power of its answer artificial intelligence.

I find the guesstimated "revive Alcatraz" budgets surprisingly high. As a local, I can say Alcatraz Island is known for its year-round dry, low-humidity climate, and its landlocked nature lends itself to being impervious to beach and wind erosion.

I have the over/under of a biker or ped getting seriously hurt on Valencia Street at two weeks.

I consider myself an attentive and experienced city biker, and I had an average of one close call per block yesterday. Jaywalkers, car doors swinging out, cars pulling out of spots, etc. It’s not good!

“Willing to lie to save face” is exactly the character trait one would want in a cabinet secretary.
Reporter: Can you share how your information about war plans was shared with a journalist?

Hegseth: So you are talking about a deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist who has made a profession of peddling hoaxes

A fun perk of having a dog means long walks through the neighborhood and finding interesting spots that look like nothing else in SF. This is the middle of Noe Valley!

"Ha, I look like I'm dressed like someone's dad coming back for college homecoming weekend," looking in the mirror after I put on a college sweatshirt.

I quickly do the math.

"Oh."

If someone had it as an explicit goal to wreck the American project, it would look indistinguishable from what Trump and Elon have done in the past month.
