Precious metals are measured in troy pounds (373 g), which are divided into 12 troy ounces (31 g). Standard (avoirdupois) pounds (454 g) are divided into 16 ounces (28 g). Thus, an ounce of gold weighs more than an ounce of feathers, but a pound of gold weighs less than a pound of feathers.

I hate to say this, but one of the kindest things my parents ever did (especially in my dad’s case) was to die young.
Our society collectively isn't prepared at all for the stubborn, toxic masculinity of my father's generation to all get sick at once. Their children see it coming but are powerless.
