The more folks in the US realize that both main parties have failed us, and continue to fail us, the harder it will be for oligarchs to manipulate us to go against our common interests. The cult of personalities and of political identities diverts our attention from actual issues.

Despite the violence unleashed across the country, it looks like Trump won’t reach Obama’s record for the number of immigrants disappeared in 1 year, at least not in 2025. Trump’s deportation machine depends on the infrastructure & ideology built by the Dems - Obama and the Clintons especially.

R. Duterte was the dictator of the Phillipines during Trump’s first term. He sits in jail charged with crimes against humanity. J. Bolsonaro was the dictator of Brazil around the same time and he sits in jail. Its a dark time, but it will end poorly for Trump. We can start building his cage now.

Institutions like TX A&M are no longer universities - they’re finishing schools for religious indoctrination. If I were an employer, I wouldn’t hire their grads. University instruction is based in critical thinking + science. It demands that young people learn to question their beliefs.

The federal military take-over of blue cities is not about crime, which has been on a mostly steady decline for decades. It’s about retaining power. If they can’t engineer an electoral win via redistricting + voter suppression, the maggots will refuse to go, but they need to control dissent for that

Literally in the middle of writing an academic article right now talking about the death of medical privacy for trans patients. The government dropped charges on someone who leaked medical records to Chris Rufo. Tennessee got access to therapy notes and pre and post op nude photos. It's really bad.
The Justice Department has sent subpoenas to the providers of gender affirming care to trans youth. My understanding is that these are under the False Claims Act and they are attempting to gain access to full medical records of trans patients similar to how Tennessee did so.
