I try to mix my basic/non-infused syrups w/o heat (either by whisk or blender) to give them a more liquid consistency, but I usually do the demerara over stovetop since it's coarser crystals are tougher to break down by mixing alone. Have probably been doing them too hot/too quick then

Oh I could've written that out better, I meant the richer syrups have been crystalizing on the bottom of the glass containers I keep em in, my bad. But all those are great tips, I'll have to try em out next time!

recently started working with a demerara old fashioned and have been really digging it: 1/4oz demerara syrup, 1.5oz el dorado 8yr, .5oz planteray oftd, couple hits of angostura. Been keeping it a 1:1 syrup tho bc the richer ones keep crystalizing on the bottom for me

Oh my God my friends and I were obsessed with this song back then! Played it all the time at parties. A friend even made me a patch based off a bit I was always singing to myself!
