My kids get mad at me and tell me to hit the “skip intro” button on nearly every show we watch, but I tell them that people put a lot of creative energy into making those intros and they set the tone. So we watch them every time. No need to rush through life! Enjoy the good things!

Who could have guessed that installing unqualified loyalists in positions of great importance would backfire so spectacularly?

We pay 40% less on gas in our household now than we did in 2023! (More than half the miles we drive now take place in an electric car.)

She knows she can't win. But she's terrified of what it would mean if she lost a re-election bid for her NY-21 seat. Being the losing candidate in an unwinable race for the governor's seat won't eliminate her from the Fox News pundit payroll, but losing her NY-21 seat might.
November 7, 2025 at 9:32 PM
My honest take on this is that she sees a huge blue wave coming in 2026. Blake Gendebien is the perfect candidate to defeat her, and losing her NY-21 seat in an election would be the end of her career. A loss in an unwinable race is less embarassing and she can go on to be a Fox News pundit.

I live in her district and I think she’s reading the tea leaves on her chances of winning in NY-21. The Democrats have an excellent candidate in Blake Gendebien, and it would be humiliating for her to lose her seat in a safe red district. Better to lose a high profile race for Governor of NY.
November 7, 2025 at 11:16 AM
I think she believes getting destroyed in a race for NY governor will be less destructive to her political ambitions (will likely raise her national profile even if she loses in a landslide) than losing her NY-21 seat to Blake Gendebien in a deep red district.

Please add NY-21 to this list.

Don't threaten me with a good time.

Honestly it’s an interesting signal on what the NY-21 race will look like if she doesn’t run for governor and decides to run for her own seat again. I think if a NY-21 election had been held between her and Blake Gendebien tonight, she would have lost.

I would like to know if this is a strategy to try to recapture the people who canceled their Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions and fled to YouTube TV after they muzzled Jimmy Kimmel.
November 4, 2025 at 1:18 AM
Seems like a good strategy to get all those people who fled Hulu and Disney+ bundles in the wake of the Kimmel suspension to come back. Which is an even better reason to stick with YouTube TV

Honestly, if I were so inclined to be violent on behalf of the president (to be clear, I am not), I don't see how I don't read this as a literal get out of jail free card.

He's kind of right ... Republicans aren't in charge of the government, Donald Trump is. But that's only because the Republicans in Congress can't find their spines and do whatever he tells them to do.
