Every global disruption, from OPEC's price hikes to Iran's revolution, was painted not as geopolitical complexity but as a consequence of Carter's "weakness." His refusal to play the imperial strongman became political ammunition.

My heart is bitter, my contempt palpable. Their ideals are not wrong, but the stewards of those ideals turned their knives inward and wrought havoc both for us, people completely unrelated, but also most contemptable the very people they purported to be defending by doing so.

Trump is 1000x worse than AOC on the issue, yes. It's a shame that the progressives I used to whole heartily support spent all of their political capital dragging down Joe Biden and Kamala Harris this election season, stalling aid to grandstand.

Race baiting isn't progressive - many just see firing squad as archaic and inhumane; many see the death penalty in of itself that way.
