Like in Brazil’s case (cited in the article): The shift back didn’t happen just because voters made a different choice. It took mass mobilization, legal resistance, institutional defiance, and social breakdown. In the process, people died, activists/journalists threatened/jailed, etc.

I don’t think enough attention has been put on how services for DC residents are going to be destroyed they have to find 1$ billion dollars in their budgets from schools, police, fire, parks etc
