Shoutout to #Roblox for giving me a free yubikey 5 NFC at #RDC2025! I was surprised to find them just giving them out at the security booth, super useful for hardening account security.

I've made a forum post outlining why #Roblox 's new "sensitive topic" content policy is both problematic and dangerous to minorities & co.

Go give this post your support, NOW is the time to speak up : devforum.roblox.com/t/the-new-se...

The new "sensitive content" policy is extremely problematic and NEEDS to change before going live
As of yesterday, Roblox released an announcement on changes to policy with regards to experience moderation. Without quoting the entirety of the announcement, here’s the major changes they announced: ...

I'll see you all at #RDC2025! Looking forward to chatting and networking with everyone :-)

I'll also be bringing more metal noble pins and stickers this year following RDC tradition. There might even be some phoenix entertainment pins & stickers!

Volumetric lighting (volumika) + gothic victorian map = pure eye candy.

I made a cool portal effect. Looks like a gateway to another dimension! #RobloxDev

Staccato orchestral strings are always fun to mess around with. Can make some cool melodies around these chords!

I made a cool react component that provides an input icon for a given Enum.KeyCode. It even differentiates between Playstation 4 & Playstation 5 buttons!

I've added arc-based turning in my upcoming #platformer! The faster you move, the slower you turn!

I've added avatar directional leaning and slope tilting to my #platformer sandbox! Turns out directly animating motor6D joints is useful for certain types of procedural avatar animations.

One of the most painstakingly tedious parts of making a platformer that you don't hear about a lot is the fine-tuning of the numbers. How long should coyote time last? How high should the jump be? How fast should acceleration be? How far should the airdive go?

Lots of tweaking!

I made a hilarious fall death animation inspired by crash bandicoot! Upon hitting the ground, some of the avatar's accessories (shoulder, neck, front and shoes) will bounce back up to the camera.
The end result is peak slapstick comedy 😂

My #platformer sandbox features advanced damage collision detection! When the player's hitbox collides with a damage mesh, various checks are performed to make sure the collision was "fair" to the player. This means they can't be hurt through walls, even very thin ones!

I made a squish hazard in my platformer sandbox, because it's not a platformer without the player being made comically flat at least once 😂

Hey @labeller.roblox.social! What are the requirements for the "Top Engaging Experiences" label? My game has 100+ million visits & 300+ CCU on average. I was also a developer for RB Battles during the event in 2020, etc.

Most developers have a "signature" of some kind. Some leave a specific comment or filename in the code, some always name a game object something specific.

Mine is ragdolls. Every single game I have ever touched has ended up with ragdolls in it. Watching an avatar flop to the ground never gets old!

When will #BlueSky be getting video support? I wanted to make some posts showing off a new character controller I made, but this site only supports images right now.

Github projects are really awesome for handling hundreds of tickets at a small to medium scale. We use them for all of our projects and it's gone quite well!

Only downside is they're basically impossible to migrate from org to org, so you lose a lot of metadata during migrations.

Using subdomains as a user handle is a neat feature. Didn't even realize I wanted that haha
