Using Actor-Partner Interdependence Modeling, we found that ⬆️caregiver anxiety was significantly associated with⬆️patient depression. This finding of interdependent psychological distress highlights the need to better support BOTH patients and caregivers in cirrhosis care

Among 127 patients with decompensated cirrhosis and their caregivers, over 1 in 4 dyads reported clinically significant depression symptoms and over 1 in 6 reported clinically significant anxiety symptoms. Over 50% of cirrhosis caregivers reported clinically significant anxiety.
