The other day I visited Mordor. I think I like it! 😅 Patagonia's Cerro Paine Grande, towering 2.6 km above, emerges in a spectacle of the eternal fight between light and darkness. 📷

I love #photography. My new friend is questioning whether photography is a thing here on #Bluesky. Can you please share this if you see it? I want to see photographers suceed. I miss old Twitter photography feeds. #nature #landscapephotography
Is #photography as dead on Bluesky algorithms as on any other social media these days?

Some #landscape shots I captured on a #hike in #Norway.

At some point I misplaced all my files of our honeymoon trip to Yosemite National Park. All I have left are small versions I pulled from my old Flickr account. Hopefully one day the originals reappear.
How do y’all keep your files organized so you don’t lose any? I obviously need some tips.

Some pictures of a trip I took to Ilha do Mel and Superagui in Brazil around 2003. Unfortunately I only had a potato to take pictures with so quality was extremely lacking.

Storm clouds over Petrified Forest National Park. August 2021.
I’m torn on whether I love the desert or the mountains more. Maybe it’s just the lack of other people around that I appreciate.

I wish we had Sagan alive today to help guide us through these dark times with his calm reason and empathy. I’m not sure we’ll ever have another science communicator as comforting and guiding as him.

The calm before the storm.
This was the evening before we lost power and water for three days back in the big freeze of 2021. We were lucky to have a new home with good insulation. Temps only dropped to the mid-50’s inside the house while it was around 17f outside.

For history fans out there here’s a few pages from a mid-19th century geography book my dad found in a Pennsylvania dump when he was young.
