NCC's Climate Action Plan 24-26 states that encouraging and prioritising an increase in active travel and journeys using public transport, is the means to decarbonising transport which offers the most co-benefits in terms of public health, accessibility, and equality. If we want to keep enjoying

unspoiled and 'resemble something from a postcard', we all must promote first & foremost sustainable and active modes of transport.

NCC declared a climate emergency in 2019 and an ecological emergency in 2023. Transport on our roads is still one of the main contributors to carbon emissions.

Q13 reads "How would you prefer to access public transport information in the future?" followed by Q14 "Why is this your preference?" and Q15 "Do you have any suggestions for improving public transport information?". Q12 reads "Which one feature would you consider most essential in a public transport information system?":

We selected "Journey planning (across multiple transport providers)" but would have preferred it as "Journey planning (across multiple modes of transport)" - wording matters!

Whilst public transport is a good alternative to driving & should be encouraged where possible, we still need to get there first. So, how do you do that? Most people will either walk or cycle & will worry about safe routes to get there or where to securely store their bike. Our response reflect that
