I'm not saying Dems should emulate Republicans, but is there any chance Republicans would help Dems raise the debt ceiling without major concessions? Ever? We have so little leverage. Use it!! They've proved they won't compromise unless they absolutely have to.

I very much enjoyed both the Wicked musical and book, but I'm starting to worry that it has Hobbit syndrome. I'll go see it, but I'm afraid my family would be bored and indignant when a nearly 3 hour movie ends in the middle of the story.

One implication of Bluesky (versus Twitter) is that I no longer have a sort of unending string of "tweets" to read. On the one hand, I run out of content. On the other, I don't mindlessly scroll. Feature? Bug?

I'm thinking about buying A Game of You by @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com for my gender-neutral nibbling for Christmas. I've read the whole series so many times that I feel like I've lost perspective. Does this story make sense on its own, without context?
