8/ Something must be done to stop this waste and ensure taxpayer funds are spent without conflicts of interest.

In a report I issued last month, I urged the Legislature to act.

4/ The State Auditor questioned the broker’s independence and urged the school district in the future to avoid conflicts of interest when purchasing health insurance.
October 22, 2025 at 7:22 PM
3/ The report found that the broker underestimated costs by an average of $3.55M per year based on a misleading and erroneous comparison between HIF and SEHBP costs.

For a three-year period, the district and employees missed the chance to save $7.5M.

The Office of the State Comptroller encourages Medicaid providers to self-disclose overpayments. Providers who do so are not charged penalties or interest and may receive extended repayment terms.

In FY 2025, 10 providers self-disclosed and returned $1.8M in total to NJ Medicaid.
October 16, 2025 at 3:52 PM
My office recovered more than $132 million in Medicaid payments in FY 2025.

That’s an 11% increase over last year.

My office's report reveals the reality of NJ's lifeguard pension program: it's unfairly burdening certain NJ shore towns.

Six towns face a combined $37M in pension liabilities. Atlantic City alone faces a $21M shortfall.

The State needs to address this 1928 law.

My office's recent report uncovered double-dipping in NJ's lifeguard pension program.

Over half of retired lifeguards are drawing a second state pension.

Double-dipping strains NJ's pension systems and, ultimately, taxpayers.

With cuts pending, continuing to safeguard its integrity is vital.
