Added bonus to this spring snow that we need: the snowduck brigade is back at work at the University of Calgary!

Strong solidarity with trans kids and folx in Calgary today. We stand and fight with you for as long as it takes. Thanks to friends here who will join rallies across the country to protest this cruel transphobic legislation.

Poor Jett. It’s a busy time. So I have some sympathy for her lying on lecture notes as I prepare a PowerPoint because she requires love and attention.

This wooden spoon is the first kitchen tool I bought. A key ingredient to so many soups & stews.

Update on the peace crane flock in my grad class. The student sign Sean Lake has been replaced with spin introducing Papa Crane. The students wonder where Mama is.

Someone is leaving a treat in the seminar room I teach in. One or two new cranes join the flock every week.

Inspired by Laura Betram’s fantastic research, I made Vinartera. In the fridge for 3 days. I’ll post in a few days to see how I do in the cake fight!

Happy Thanksgiving! A less traditional dish of bison ribs on barley-yellow beet Swiss-chard.
The ribs were BBQ. By me from marinade to charcoal grill.

Went to the CIFF documentary on Mr. Dressup today. He insisted that Judith - the puppeteer - be paid the same wage as him. I met her at a fantastic workshop organized by Colin Coates on Hornby. Look for this film. And bring tissues.
