Totally get journalistic integrity and all, but it’s totally fine for a journalist to say “Why are you doing illegal things?” They don’t have to couch it by framing it as a question as to whether the illegal thing is, in fact, illegal.

The play is pretty clear: tank the economy, piss off enough people domestically so that they get into worse and worse protests, invoke the Insurrection Act and declare martial law, suspend elections, game over.
