I bought this $35 desoldering gun from Aliexpress and I have to say it’s changed my life. A fraction of the price of a real desoldering pump and does an incredible job. Super simple, easy to disassemble and clean. It’s a Yihua 929D, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Finally got a cheap little USB mouse adaptor for my Amiga, but it wouldn’t work with varying symptoms on different mice. Hmm. Works on my ST though. Turns out resistor EMI401 strikes again! #amiga

Turns out I can maybe kinda solder SMD components? Thanks to this handy training kit. The instructions are all in Chinese, but I can still mess around.

My 1084 is having some veeeery slight horizontal sync issues when pushing 60Hz from MiSTer. I need to get it apart and see what capacitors we’re dealing with and what else might be an issue. I’ll document this in case I get zapped by a flyback.
