Today I optimized my instrument tuner app/plugin from 101% cpu usage down to 18%. A productive day. Throttling, SIMD, and tuning UI updates were all game changers.

All right well.
I think it's pretty safe to say I am significantly depressed.
I am looking at all the s*** I have in my studio that I'm supposed to do videos on and all of it is either buggy, unfinished, or mediocre.
I have completely lost any joy from interacting with music technology.

Ugh, should my delay plugin strictly align itself to the grid, or just sorta hang out using BPM derived timings?
Strict alignment seems lame, and extra work to implement.

I was working on a sampler plugin earlier this year, but kinda fell out of love with the idea. I think I can circle back on it, and retool it as an interesting delay and microsound/granular effect instead. Something I'd be more interested in using day-to-day at least.

To me, seeing someone announce art or good news during terrible times isn't like trying to sell balloons at a funeral, it's like getting hugged at that funeral. When maybe you didn't know how much you needed that hug. From anyone. Or everyone. Folks need all the soul fuel they can get.

I made my synth polyphonic, combining the architecture I'd already built with JUCE's poly synthesizer classes was easier than I expected.
Lots of edge cases to fix though, especially if I don't want 16 voices to consume all the CPU. Eep!
