The Lumo demo WIP went down well at Amiga Belfast today despite being bugged to flip. Might have sold a couple of 2umo as well :)

Also got talking with ex-Codies artist Johnathan Temples, who literally lives round the corner from me now!

I’m working on porting Lumo (2016) to actual #Amiga, an isometric arcade adventure game that calls back to retro itself coming full circle. Gameplay is well advanced with 300 rooms implemented, but only programmer graphics so far 🤣

Phew. Completed a major puzzle sequence in #Lumo #Amiga that I thought I'd have to leave out. Reworked it to fit into 7Mhz, and now there's just a few fairly straightforward rooms to add in Zone 6 before we're down to the final three zones. Cripes!

Bit of a detour to port Lumo to Bartman's gcc14 so I could use the VSCode profiling tools. Found some yikes memcpy() stuff hiding in the collision system and dropped it from 80-90% of frame time to more like 60%.

I'll still use Bebbo's compiler as the codegen is better.

There's a lot packed into this large room and it drops well below 25fps on a 7Mhz machine when everything gets going. I think I'll do some profiling next and see if where it's coming from as the rooms in these later zones are generally busy.
