Wealth consolidation seems irrepressible now.
But our careless consumption is unsustainable too.
and countless murdered by states of greed...
SK had horrific massacres, carried out by govt, cover ups, etc. maybe this gives institutional memory to military, as well as indelible trauma to population. Why so many kiwi in denial of our similar past? Hate to think our military would roll over if our PM declared illegal martial law.

The 'two languages confuse children' line is literally assimilationist shit from two generations ago that has been so massively debunked even as whole cohorts lost their mother tongues at school.

Applying sanctions to people on benefits and expecting them to find a properly paying job in response is like tossing someone out of emergency housing and expecting them to buy a nicely renovated villa in Grey Lynn in response

And I don't know their situation, but MSD may be able to advance a loan for private diagnosis costs, and low wage ppl may be eligible for disability support counselling applicable to monthly psychology help before/after adhd or other diagnosis (ie. job seekers not necessarily a prerequisite).

Main reason to be self informed: adult diagnosis requires evidence of childhood adhd symptoms, so knowing the criteria is necessary to find it, eg in school reports, and asking school for teacher comments in any unpublished school records, childhood teacher/coach/friends/ written statements etc:

My 3 replies yesterday not published? Sorry! In summary, 1st try their Dr referall to publich health sys (yes, unlikely, but also necessary for later?) Try asking info@adhd.org.nz for private psychologist doing remote diagnosis. Also, they must research/know the diagnosis criteria, for many reasons.

Oh yuck! It has been interesting but disapointing watching Twitter turn into a mob looking for scapegoats. I don't even log into 'x' anymore.

Hey Toshiro, your post auto translated as "I remember feeling terrible when I heard talk going around like, "You shouldn't help people in need because they'll hold a grudge against you."" Is that accurate? What is the context? Sounds like something rich people say to excuse feeling guilty :)

I went to Mahu College in WW. My grandparents lived in Totara Park village out left of that photo. They walked, slower and slower, past that intersection to town, and back, every single day, for several years. Sometimes we'd go together, sooo infuriatingly slowly as a teen. I miss this terribly now.

Escapism? Maybe the OP's example refers to a 'distraction from self' or whatever the alternative task or thoughts are (anxity, obsessivness, depression). Like "Games dissasociate me; I 'forget myself' in the game". Also 'blobbing out'?
