The former Belgian embassy was located exactly where the National Diet now stands from 1893 until 1928. It was the former residence of Prime Minister Toshimichi Okubo. The embassy was later moved to Nibancho, Kojimachi, to the former residence of Prime Minister Takaaki Kato.

Golden glow of #gingko in #Tokyo in Fall. The leaves are the symbol of Tokyo metropolis, the University of Tokyo, and the Urasenke tea ceremony school. The #tree is a living fossil that represents resilience and endurance. Many older trees standing have survived fires and the ravages of war.

19/ The back reads 'The #Dutch are happy!' We can see various sentences chalked on the train carriage, including 'The Flying Dutchman Berlijn - Amsterdam' and some references to Hitler. Hundreds of thousands from the #Netherlands were used as Arbeitseinsatz, forced labor, in Germany.
