People have had enough war. The vast majority of Syrians of all ethnicities & sects want unity & have had enough of Assad's & others' divide-and-rule policies.
I'm cautiously optimistic HTS will keep the promises, if only because there's not the military power, funds or energy for more fighting.🤞

Detainees' families have been protesting against them in Idlib for years. I suspect/hope that's one reason they're rushing to rebrand, because they don't have the power or support to roll those policies out across Syria - post-Assad, people are a lot less likely to accept tyranny again.
