I'm thankful for stores that have a pick-up option. It's been a soul-wrenching, brain-crunching week, and being as financially strapped as I am, I can't handle being around things I enjoy, but can't afford.

What is your inspiration to create? Mine is ancient art, and ancient stories that aren't quite the main stream. Sekhmet was the dangerous aspect of the sun, among other things. But I see her as the embodiment of a woman's ferocity and even rage - in that way, she is like Medusa, a "dangerous woman."

"Your Body, My Choice" - I'm sharing this because a) it's not acceptable to say to anyone, b) it is considered a threat, and c) the outcome of a threat can be very bad for the person doing the threatening. I will also add that this phrase is as childish as a 3-year-old. apnews.com/article/trum...
Emboldened 'manosphere' accelerates threats and demeaning language toward women after US election
An emboldened fringe of right-wing “manosphere” influencers has seized on Donald Trump’s presidential win to justify and amplify misogynistic derision and threats online.

My first taste of animé was "Speed Racer," but this was my go-to favourite getting home from school. Oh, how I loved their ship!

My apologies for the silence - life is busy beyond the screen, especially after realizing my own family genealogy really needs an overhaul - source citations and proofs for starters.

I've been a fan of "Star Wars" since it's re-release in 1978, but tonight is the 1st time my teen has seen it. So it's good hearing enjoyment in the storytelling, recognizing Phil Tippet's handiwork in the special effects, and the Wilhelm Scream in sound. "I can see why people like this movie."

PALEOGRAPHY - "deciphering the handwriting of earlier centuries," and what I've been doing of late. Digging through baptism, marriage, and inhumation records from the 18th and 19th c. Hungary. At least it's in Latin, and the writer was legible, but this was and is a challenge.

This just came across my phone notifications as THE weekend read from Associated Press. It may have been from Nov. 21st, but it's great to see. Good on you all! And thank you for making this platform.

Clearly, his royal rabbitness Remmy is relaxed since he and his tolerant friend, Chloe, were moved into the family room. I didn't know rabbits, like cats, can take on a liquid-ish state and splooge flat on the floor. #rabbitsofbluesky

STAR WARS - while released in 1977, it was re-released in 1978 with the title "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope." I have been a wide-eyed fan since, even with Jar Jar, even with Disney. I haven't seen or read it all, & there are imperfections, but it's a creative sandbox that inspires imagination

"WKRP in Cincinnati Turkey Drop" is a laugh I wanted to share for it's comedic gold, and the writers giving a loving nod to live reporting on the radio ala the Hindenburg disaster - youtu.be/HiSkjcl9yW4?... #comedy #Thanksgiving #Gen-X #WKRP

Am I the only one who, while doing historical research using primary materials, gets feelings about the dead people involved? I'm going through 18th, 19th & early 20th century church records at the moment & my spouse hears my running commentary. There's annoyance, sadness, more annoyance, confusion.

I would like to introduce you to his egotistical, self-centred bunny-buttness, Remington, ruler of no less than two humans, and annoying demander of grooming to his bonded friend (?), Chloe. Yes, this is the face of judgement.

My thanks to @alexlopezwrites.bsky.social for this thought. I want to write again, but fear. When I was young, I loved being a storyteller, and writing that way. It stopped decades ago when a person I thought was a trusted friend, eviscerated as being "mentally ill" for my writing. Its an old fear.
what if your ideas are as in love with you as you are with them?

what if your creativity spends its days dreaming about you too?

what if art is a co-creation between you (the vessel) & the eternal source of all things?

what if this act of making is the universe experiencing itself through you?

I have resorted to safety ear covering in hopes my family realizes a) I'm not listening to them and b) to please not bother me while I'm working (research, analysis, etc. - heaven forbid, writing creatively). Does it work? So far, only if the hint is gotten. Which is hit and miss so far.

I am a consciousness housed within, and responsible for, a human female body lo these 54 years. A storyteller by nature, curiosity has always had me mentally exploring - anthropology, archaeology, history, genealogy, myths, fables, tales. Someday, I will write, likely creatively, but there is fear.
