Second this. F train has been completely unreliable as of late especially on weekends when it’s basically impossible to plan travel that involves that line.

Yeah this is just incorrect

Part of the issue that NYC Dem voters have with the non-endorsements is that none of these guys will say where their differences lie. It smacks of inauthenticity when the base is looking for strident champions who speak their mind.

And there it is…these pundits are so deeply committed to the bit that they’ve begun to lose their value as news analysts. At a certain point, audience capture hopelessly damages their integrity. Jarring to see the folks whose opinions you once sought out do this.

Something to be said for the combination of a lifelong pathological liar who is also perhaps experiencing cognitive decline: the web of lies gets sloppy, I’d think, and less consistent.

The fact of the matter is that many many left of center folks that would have ostensibly been Matt’s audience now prefers the perspectives shared on BlueSky over the relatively weak punditry from folks like Matt. The audience for these types of clever but vacuous ‘takes’ is shrinking fast.

Isn’t he up for re-election in 2026?

Gonna need to hear what @governor.ny.gov is planning to do about this

I’d love to see cross tabs on the prevalence of banking vs crypto. This seems to be the animating logic behind the push for GENIUS and it doesn’t pass the smell test.

Zero sum thinking is best understood as the true enemy of abundance. And I’d add that racism and bigotry are the final bosses of zero sum. There is no inherent conflict there.

“A progressive pussy” - ok so where was Cuomo today when the mayor of Newark was arrested? Lander and Zohran went to the scene, Cuomo hasn’t even put out a statement. Cuomo has been hiding from the press this whole primary. He’s a coward and you’re a moron if you fall for his “tough guy” vibes.

And incidentally, in sharp contrast with the anemic response from US philanthropy more broadly. Setting aside one’s views of Gates the man, he seems willing to use his $ in alignment with his values - support for evidence based and practical harm reduction.

Who’s working on the mechanics of this, I wonder?

In what sense are liberals discounting ‘socio-material factors’ in assessing the current state of things? I’d argue they’re simply doing so within their own liberal framework. Even Stancil wants to blow some things up to preserve the underlying principles of liberalism.

Media consolidation? Undemocratic structures like the electoral college? Small-c conservative institutions like the senate? None of these are fundamental parts of liberalism per se but obviously greatly affect outcomes. Are large scale, complex systems not capable of anomalous outcomes?

Is anyone arguing that now though? I think the debate (for most folks engaging post Trump) is between ‘fix liberalism’ and ‘try something else’ isn’t it? Statements like ‘this is a natural outgrowth of liberalism’ seem to imply that the liberal ideology itself is the problem.
