Well good news about the format is that there are arguably 4 variants of Maliss that are playable.

Doing my annual New Year's Marathon of LOTR, and it just hit me how I could've made my first D&D campaign so much easier after they got the Wand of Orcus at lvl 5.
Instead of needing it, just have the equivalent if the Nazgul chase them after using an ability each time
