Certainly not a good sign for the Big Three’s commitment to EVs. But given how little they rolled out in general, would it also be fair to say that the Big Three seem kind of half-hearted about this auto thing, full stop?

You can also get this data from the EIA. But “publicly available” is not the same as “well known and easy to find” - which may be good for researchers. I’ve sometimes wondered if the EIA’s excellent data provision would take a beating from lobbyists if it were more widely used.

I kinda love that parallel between the two techs! (And yeah, even as a car-liker, I’d happily trade a congestion charge in DC for a truly show-up-and-go public transit system.)

I remember the heady days of allowing no less than double the expected drive time to get anywhere in Boston because I couldn’t drive and read directions at the same time, and once you miss your turn in Boston, it’s game over.
