I had the best time in Akiba this weekend catching up with my old friend from elementary school!
We went to the Wizardry pop-up event and museum, saw Steins;Gate 15th Anniversary merch pop-up, had the best Japanese curry of my life, and across from it, found the best store in Akiba for VR gear!

I love Maren Mazesoba. I’ve been here more than anywhere else in Japan.
Mazesoba is a dish of lukewarm toppings on a bed of hot noodles covered in a delicious sauce instead of a broth.

I’m really excited to have completed my intensive Japanese course at the Coto Academy in Shibuya.
I’ve been doing Japanese school part-time (3 hours of class a day Monday through Friday, plus daily homework and studying) while working full-time. It was tough but I learned so much!

I got one of my grails today from Mandrake at Nakano Broadway: a complete-in-box copy of Pokémon Card GB 2: Team Great Rocket Arrives!
This never got a localized release outside of Japan. I’m glad to acquire a clean copy.

Today I tried tantanmen (タンタンメン) for the first time. This cousin of ramen (the name is actually short for tan tan ramen) is a flavorful soup with ramen noodles, what felt like half a dozen eggs, at least a half pound of cheese, all soaked in a delicious chili broth.
