Not sure if I’m disappointed. I got Cinemax on Roku for my son, but the classic section doesn’t have any of the old Skinemax content. Although I’m not sure what I’d make of softcore porn these days…

Breakfast Rock

I'm not only weird with words. I play with puppets, too (and only sometimes for the kids). This emerged from a random joke I made about what if there was a sub-genre of music called, "breakfast rock." Y'know, like yacht rock or hard rock; then I thought it would be funnier if it was…

Seeing that it’s Friday, I’m combining the updates for the last couple weeks. Going back to the day job is hard. Between that and cardiac rehab, plus the fatherly and husbandly aspects of my life, I’ve been pretty damn drained of energy over the last couple weeks. That’s made writing a challenge - but hardly a unique one, I think. It’s taken perseverance and a kind of stubborn effort, plus a little ingenuity, but I’ve managed to keep moving…

I saw a gallon jug of pee on the side of the road today. Couldn’t stop for a picture, but damn. Knowing it happens is one thing; seeing it is another. #pissinthewild

Lots of fun! This book belongs in a kooky, genre-independent category of media there’s no simple name for. I could call it weird, but then horror lovers might get confused because of the sub-genre of new weird. This is certainly not that. I think I will call it weird. The book and the class it belongs to. My writing falls there.

Metris delivery vans are hilarious. Tap the gas, it goes like a sports car (Mercedes engine). Tap the brake for the purpose of shifting into reverse, it doesn’t register the brake. 🙄

It’s been a weird week. I’ve had lots of appointments and to-dos to clear before this coming Monday, when I return to work. I’ve also spent my days being more active so I can evaluate my energy levels (which are good, but not great). That’s led to some days when I’ve slept longer than intended, and that’s meant less writing time.

Eclipse Day – The Story Behind the Story

Eclipse Day – The Story Behind the Story
Take note: there's no way to avoid spoilers when an author talks about how they go about their craft. Read the story before you read this, or don't complain if you ruin your own fun. Get yourself a copy here. I enjoyed my first total solar eclipse in 1993, near the end of my freshman year of high school. It was quite the event, being in the early afternoon, after lunch but before dismissal.
