One of the things about being a mixed media artist is that the tendency to get little paper bits just about everywhere is just kinda inevitable. This was made out of floor scraps that I picked up today.

I'm deep in the midst of the obsession with these little glass and gel print scrap thingies that I don't really know what to call them.

Playing around with an idea for gelli print scraps... I got a jar of those little glass pebbles that you'd put in a vase and glued little bits of paper to the bottom... Might make good magnets? Hmm....

These green and yellow gel prints were kind of delightful accidents. Neither of them pulled particularly cleanly, but I think it added a lot of interest that wouldn't have otherwise been there.

I decided to hang up some of my more commonly used paints over top of my gel print station and this is turning out to be a huge game changer!

I can see them, I can grab them and put them away quickly, and they're no longer taking up valuable space on the counter!!

The best part is the embossed paper that you're essentially using as a stamp ends up getting a layer of paint that can be used... I added some spray ink to these embossed papers.
Two embossed papers, one with dots and one with bricks, black paint accentuate the embossed pattern and spray ink in pink and orange have been added.

I've been rather into die cutting recently. I picked up a second Sizzix Big Shot at a thrift store recently, so I now have one at home and one that I can take on the road with me.

If you're in the Portsmouth, NH area this weekend, I recommend hearing protection if you go outside... I encountered the Blue Angels practicing yesterday and my ears are still ringing.

I tend to be a bit of a hoarder when it comes to art supplies, largely on the premise that the more I have available to me to play with, the less precious things become and the more willing I am to take risks in my art.

I ended up picking up a bag of white plastic eggs at the thrift store the other day and started decorating some, and I have to say it was a random project seeing as it's nowhere near the egg decorating holiday... But it was quite fun!

It's always when the camera isn't rolling that you pull the happy accident print.

Was experimenting with some spray ink on the back of a gel printed tissue paper, and it got wet enough to stick back on the plate, so I guess it wanted to be printed on more substantial paper. 😂
