Self Made Man 🌙 Redux

Started reading a thriller that is supposed to be so good. First five pages remind me why I don't read non-fantasy fiction. I'm annoyed by all the small details that don't make sense and I can't just shrug off as otherworldly logic. Also the dialogues are so fake, I'd rather believe magic is real.

As an art teacher I was worried AI would come up as an issue of "why should I learn how to draw when I can use AI instead."

But the real issue is that my middle schoolers CONSTANTLY believe all art I show them is AI. Digital art. Photography. Oil paintings from the Western canon. "A human couldn't do that"

Being convinced that humans can't make great art is kind of terrifying

As much as I enjoyed figuring out the digital art thing (and I will keep doodling on my tablet every now and then for sure,) it made me realize how much I love paper and the acoustics of traditional pencil scratches.
