What gets regarded as a highly different and old-school sexual system is in fact still largely the foundation of our modern one, that the degree of minoritization through sexuality is still largely dependent on your place in the gender system.

The sin here would be being too much like a woman!

This was the exact sexual system in the US even a hundred years ago. Having sex with "biological males" didn't minoritize you at all as long as you were the masculine—and therefore typically dominant, penetrating—partner.

This is also why I reject defining the political core of "queerness" as "same-sex activity."

That political core is actually deviation from the standardized male-female system, with its accompanying sexual ecosystem.

This is also why so many cis men lust after trans women while arguing that we're a type of male. The point is that we're imagined to be a type of male with the sexual utility of a female, regardless of the language used for us. The dual-distinction from both men and women is part of the point.
