Working on a new project to help players discover more indie games!

It's super early, but here's a screenshot of the back-end stats: I scraped 500 games (0.26% of Steam's almost-total list) and pulled 43k reviews. This took ~4 hours.

14/ been working on my game for a while, but here's some wolf art that, uh, yeah. I wasn't intentionally aiming for it to look anorexic ... at least it doesn't look alien like the first two drafts ...

#Roguelike grind continues. Added "giant" tree variations that take up most of the tree space in the forest. It looks more visually interesting (I hope. Does it?)

Also made the path edges ragged.

Moving the grindstone forward on the #Roguelike. Here's the desert biome. It's ... plain and open ... like many deserts.

Gonna switch gears to focus on finishing one biome end-to-end. That'll make the demo of the game, too.

More #Roguelike work. Caves now generate, and are usually not giant empty spaces. A bit of auto-tile magic for the borders, plus borrowed tiles for the walls.

All #WIP of course.

Check out these few maps.

Oh this is cool, what game is this?

I was inspired by Rogue Fable III or IV, by Justin Wang. Here's a shot similar to the one I used.

Weird #GodotEngine experiment: a "virtual terminal" grid of labels, each with a single character and unique colour. Runs at ~12FPS. Slow. But it works?

WARNING: possibly triggering of epilepsy/seizures

#Roguelike work continues! Made the forests bigger (more spaced out), and made the path auto-tile/terrain (note the rounded corners!). Slow but steady progress.

Here are a few maps for your perusal.

Lots of work on my #roguelike. Here you can see (imperfect) forest generation, me moving around, monsters hitting each other to get to me, and me fighting back; plus, the classic roguelike console (toggleable).

After a lot of pain and experimentation, got the path tiles to be round, and to look aight. You can also see the camera here (and the edge of the world ...)

A little #ScreenshotSaturday tweak: added a camera (not pictured) and started on the first biome (forbidden forest). Still lots of tweaks to do, but this is a good start.

The beginning of a new traditional #roguelike: The Khalifa's Daughter. Starring, you, the Khalifa's daughter.

Got basic tile-based movement going, this took WAY too long ( #GodotEngine physics is overkill for this, amirite?).

13/ took yesterday's turnip man thing (see silhouette) and made two forms: a regular dude, and a turnip knight of sorts. Um. Yeah.

Some character sketches for my time-travel #JRPG. Trying the concept of "recognizable, distinct silhouettes."

Which one is your favourite?

12/ got motivated to make a JRPG. I can do it! Minimalistic art, no shading, seems to be the key.

Here's grass and three variations of a deciduous tree, plus a coniferous tree.

Hi #IndieDev #GameDev, help a broski out. Made these tiles using the Pineapple32 palette (attached). It has three shades of green.

Picked mid green for grass and leaves, and trees look hollow now. Shifting them one lighter yellow looks ick.

How do I fix this?

Blizzard changed my account name today from "FreePalestyn" because it's unacceptable/abusive.

To be clear: I stand with Palestine. 60k civilians killed (women and children). Is that the side of history you want to be on?

#GameDev #IndieDev: If you stand with Israel, we can't be friends. Block me.

Here's the equivalent tiny IDE made in #MonoGame/#BuiltWithMonoGame. Uses the shiny new MonoGo, which is quite good. Backend is 100% C# and Roslyn.

The UI is a bit of a thicc boi, but I'm sure that's something I can deal with later.

Made a tiny IDE in #GodotEngine. It's not as complicated as I thought.

Pressing F5 uses Roslyn and C# on the back-end to compile and execute the code, and show the results.

It's temporary, will replace the IDE later with my own tech.
