I wonder how the writers who sided with the Giller Prize and that sweet, sweet blood money over their colleagues last year are feeling right now. This is welcome news, but I'm gonna remember those writers going forward.

ICE picking up every non-white person they can and putting them in detention centres is connected to all the tariffs. America is going to need to manufacture everything themselves, and those people will be used as slave labour. America is just getting ready to ramp up doing slavery.

Rednote has opened a lot of eyes to how we've been fed propaganda and lied to about China. This is good. Now that we realize that, we should be thinking about what other countries have we been told lies about. North Korea, Cuba, the USSR, etc.

After reading the first few chapters of American Gods, I was like, the author is fucked up. Same for the lady who wrote My Lovely Bones.
It's pretty easy to tell, imo. Authors often expose their state of mind through their writing.

The best way to know if an author or artist you love is secretly a terrible person is... you can't. There are no magic tricks here. Awful people who successfully manage to be awful for years are good at hiding the fact they are awful. All the average person can do is deal on a case by case basis
