Another theoretical argument here: if there isn’t a mechanical penalty or consequence to a choice, is the role playing choice as meaningful? Ie if all roads leads to the same optimal build, what does that produce?

I think it's semi-balanced by the fact that shawn's explicitly shown to be incredibly immature, but how much that's a bad thing versus a punch line definitely varies episode to episode.

Might be worth watching that space though with the new series coming out in 2027. Will probably see some new forms and applications of bending in the magical post apocalypse

Especially notable when Daredevil pushes the idea of crime spiking in New York and Fisk is being irresponsible cutting the police force and vigilantes. Which, combined with the punisher stuff, feels like serious uncanny valley to me.

Kiiiiiind of, but Fisk’s actual positions are kind of nonsensical? Like he simultaneously wants to defund the police, create a secret police force, and take down vigilantes, with very little outside of that. Which is about what you get with comics, but feels particularly weird to me living in NY rn
