Sad news about the passing of Jane Goodall. My favourite story is about her and the cartoonist Gary Larson. He published this cartoon which her Institute objected to whilst she was away. On her return she said she loved it, and she and Larson became good friends. screenrant.com/far-side-con...

I can't be the only Brit whose first thought when I saw the statue of Trump and Epstein in the US was "this looks like a statue of Morecambe and Wise!"

I'm in the UK and my first thought when I saw this was "this looks like a statue of Morecambe and Wise!" (famous and much-loved British comic double act, working most successfully in television).

If you're passing through Yelverton soon: I have just seen this in the charity shop (map and Archers tea-towel).

Great photos as always! I think it is another good year for hawthorn berries.

Spotted 2 female #goosander near the dam of the Burrator reservoir, west #Dartmoor this morning - possibly the first time I've seen this species. #birding

Great! The articles says prey availability won't be a problem. But I think I've spotted something that will be a problem sadly :-(

Common buzzard (Buteo buteo) over my house on the edge of #Dartmoor this morning. I never tire of watching them circling on the thermals.

Sunrise over #Dartmoor this morning at the beginning of August.

Sun-warmed bridge granite underhand; River Walkham flowing gently to the sea from the heights of Dartmoor.

For the first time ever I saw a roadkill mole today whilst walking around the Burrator :-( [data not shown, as we scientists say]
Then a mile later I saw what looked like another one. Curious.
Lots of butterfiles though :-)

I visited Lyme Regis last month. When I saw her statue my first thought was "Why is she holding a Cornish pasty?" !

A beautiful day on #Dartmoor for walking - gloriously blue skies and not too hot although the sun is strong. The bluebells around here seem to have been rather subdued this year (maybe the dry weather?)

Today at the Burrator reservoir :-) Big change in the weather since my last walk there last Thursday.
