2) Although I’m not against the accession of countries like Ukraine and Turkey, I believe they should make structural changes to align more the EU’s core principles. Allowing gay marriage is a good way to start.

1) Yeah! In my opinion it’s just regretful how the EU clearly values the accession of countries like Poland, Hungary and potentially Ukraine and Turkey for political purposes over its core values like equality and protecting human rights.

It’s definitely sad how when a queer person does something inappropriate, Republicans think it allows them to judge them for their sexual/gender orientation rather than the action itself. 🤷‍♂️
