Hey @UBC finance, why has the single purchase limit for university credit cards remained the same since I started in 2009? According to the Bank of Canada, the same goods today now cost 1.42x what they cost in 2009

Excited to share that our recent paper is featured as the Endocrinology Article of the Week! @samanthajsyoon.bsky.social

Using NeuronChat to assess cell:cell signalling across the hypothalamus, Sam found that this increased activity was likely the result of increased glutamate signalling and reduced GABA signalling to POMC cells. 10/12
April 29, 2025 at 7:25 PM
These studies suggested that activity of hypothalamic POMC neurons was elevated in Npas4 knockout animals. 9/12
April 29, 2025 at 7:25 PM
In order to understand this phenotype, @samanthajsyoon.bsky.social used scRNAseq to look at gene expression in fasted and re-fed knockout hypothalamus. 8/12
April 29, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Knockout of Npas4 in these cells led to reduced food intake and reduced weight gain without changes in glucose metabolism. 7/12
April 29, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Sam also demonstrated that Npas4 was induced early during the development of obesity in POMC cells. 6/12
April 29, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Sam demonstrated that Npas4 was induced in response to the glucose present in food in a sub-population of POMC neurons (but not in response to insulin). 5/12
April 29, 2025 at 7:25 PM
During that work, we observed that Npas4 likely also played a role in the hypothalamus. 3/12

Going to hurt when the largest export market for American made cars stops buying cars made in America.

Art of the deal. Show all your cards.

Export taxes on all of these things unless all tariffs are lifted and we go back to our previously negotiated trade deal

To all the American consumers out there, I hope you enjoy paying the tariff costs both in your investment accounts and at the check-out.

For those out there that do hESC work and haven't looked at the project2025 document, a heads up that can be found on page 460. Plan accordingly static.project2025.org/2025_Mandate...

It’s only been 10 months now so I’m not sure how it could be “time sensitive”
