Computational optics also allows scientists to get the performance they need despite the limited performance of commercially available equipment. It is rather easy and inexpensive to find a good low light camera operating at 100fps, but not so easy at faster speeds.

i also went to several faculty trainings where "inclusive teaching" methods considered acceptable to teach in one hour what normally fits 10 minutes in a lecture. Except for my own motivation, i have no incentive to deliver more content to students.

the only difference between him and I ? he has more experience, and he probably had a slightly higher level of expectations (he designed most rubrics). we both are equally available to students otherwise.
