I'm from Northern Ontario. I've done extensive research and advocacy with survivors in rural, remote and Northern communities.

Frankly, the only thing that surprises me about this report is that it's getting so much media attention outside of the region. I'm glad because it's about time!

One of the most beautiful things about the Irish is their respect for the arts. You find live music at most bars, I went to a literary pub crawl & saw monuments & museums dedicated to writers, poets, musicians, etc.

They understand the value of supporting artists & I wish Canada did, too.

During the 2017-19 ON Basic Income Pilot , 1 of 3 participants went back to school/upgraded their skills. 1 of 3 used the funds to pay for transportation, childcare or invested in a business. Half had fewer health problems. 3 of 5 improved their housing.
