PhD in paleobotany. I'm working on fossil wood from the Cenozoic. I'm interested in anatomical evolution, biogeography and paleoenvironments.
The annual #Orchid exhibition at the Grandes Serres of the @mnhn.fr. Always delightful 😊

This is my PhD trophy (a tradition in our team) and I LOVE it! I've indeed worked partly on Dipterocarpaceae... which explains the fruit.

Not a fossil for #fossilfriday but another #watercolor illustration from the Middle Miocene of Myanmar done by my mother. You can see Dipterocarps in full bloom, a Dipterocarpus and an Artocapus. #paleoart

For #FossilFriday here is a mandala of some raw fragments of fossil wood. You have Fabaceae, Moraceae and Dipterocarpaceae here.

What is the best collaboration I had ? My mother, who made this watercolor landscape illustration of the Paleocene of Myanmar for one of my thesis chapters 🥳

Perfectly ripe persimmon (kaki, in french) showing the vascularisation. I found it fascinating... and delicious !

Here is an addition to the low-latitude #paleocene fossil record of palm stems and wood.
We highlighted the long-lasting presence of some taxa in Myanmar as well as a diversity of anatomical features similar to the Indian Deccan flora or present-day tropical florae.

The #Ginkgo at the #JardinDesPlantes in Paris are gorgeous this year too. Their bright golden leaves really stand out.

I was able to retrieve some of the work but had to navigate between tangeled words and letters.

I can finally say I experienced one of the computer crashes that MUST happen right before submitting the thesis manuscript. The pdf is corrupted AND the original file has disappeared. 😬😱
