There is a sizable, committed, explicitly anti-democratic element in USA philanthropy, too. Between 2020-2022 $1 billion from philanthropy funded ~150 groups undermining democracy. These aren't fringe elements; they're funded by ~3,500 funders, wielding immense influence

A friend who works in international aid told me Musk has bought $40M of Super Bowl ad propaganda to bash the institution. Which means two things - they know low-information people have heard and are not happy about what they are doing. Two, it is really important we push back on propaganda.
