Hi, I build home brew computers, electronics projects, coding, make electronic music

For simplicity you could use two transistors and a few resistors and a capacitor.

I couldnt afford to buy a sewing machine but at a pinch I think these will do.

So heres what I am working with... Two pairs of well used Levi jeans.

Most of my projects never get put in to cases so they are.. kind of finished 😊
On the left.. My Z180 RC2014 compatible computer with some add on boards I designed. Center... A SID and MIDI interface for my Z180 setup. Right... A 24MHz Z80 based system I built.

WTF!!! An advert just popped up out of nowhere on my phones screen! Not in a message or an app but just out of thin air on the screen. If phone manufacturers think they can do this shit then nobody should buy their phones!

Try this... I have no idea if it will work but...

Round the back with all the input jack sockets... I just have to make another 11 input channel strip boards.. which will probably take until the end of the year to finish.
August 22, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Ive finished soldering all the connectors to the backplane. I slightly under estimated how many channels I could have... 15 in total.

Afternoon! Its Friday and the posties delivered another parcel from Switch Electronics. I now have all the boards for the rest of the channel strips. All the connectors to finish the backplane board that all the channel strip boards plug in to. And a few parts to finish two more channel strips

Making an Arduino R4 WIFI board run a simple server to connect a PC running a terminal and using the Arrduino's serial port to make a wireless serial connection.
I wont have to use a wired connection from the PC to the Z180 computer running CP/M any more or even be in the same room.

A photo of the back of a channel board and the master mix board. Its all point-to-point wiring.. and a little copper tape for ground plane. I dont have too much of the tape so I use it sparingly.

Testing a channel strip board now wired up to the master mix board and the frequency responce is again no different. Flat as a pancake.

Testing channel strip board three for my audio mixer project. I built this board and board four slightly different from the the first two boards on my previous post. The resulting plot on the scope is even flatter than before.
August 8, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Finished the master mix board. This has the six individual mixer circuits and master level controls for aux send 1, aux send 2, aux send 3, aux send 4, then the main left and right mix channels.

Nope not happening. I'm not giving out my bank details so I can be spyed on by governments who are only interested in monitoring bank accounts.

You can start to see how its all going to look here.

Did some more work on the audio mixer project this morning... two channel strip boards finished (top left). Two more channel strip boards being built (front) and the mix master board (top right) nearly finished. Backplane has a few more connectors added.
August 2, 2025 at 11:31 AM
I have two finished channel boards tested.. just another 10 more to build... and the master mix board is nearly finished.

Testing a finished channel board for my new home made audio mixer. Power is +/- 7.2V. I intend to run this entire mixer on batterys.
First picture is the setup and the second the frequency responce plot. Completely flat between 10Hz and 50KHz

Its gone! Stopped booting altogether now! 😢
Its served me well August 2011 to July 2025. R.I.P.

Very inconvenient 😬
