Brexiters and UK right in general love evoking World War 2. Well, if you're going down that route, no country proportionate to population sacrificed more to defend UK in 20th century than Canada 🇨🇦 We owe them. So where are the patriotic voices of support? Looking for Trump's rear end…

Have i missed it? I’ve yet to see any declaration of solidarity with Canada from UK govt. Instead we seem to be creeping around saying suck up to him to the max and he’ll be nice to us. Which is an idiotic fantasy.

US techbro Joe Lonsdale spouts fake stories on LA fires, Jess Phillips UK economy etc. @faisalislam.bsky.social didn’t interrupt cept with chummy ‘Joe you’re an interesting guy but..’ ! Muskites try to impose lies by repetition, so must be challenged. Sycophantic interviews suggest BBC has given up

That would maybe be ok if Musk was just Musk and not a leading figure in the incoming US administration. Starmer should complain to Trump at this outrageous interference in UK affairs: otherwise he’s just inviting more contempt in future.

On cosy Bluesky you might miss it, but over in the bear pit of X Musk has posted constantly in last 24 hours with concerted abuse of UK government, & retweets of TR & fans. To which Starmer&co’s only reply is that he’s misjudged and misinformed’. Waffle&weakness only encourage Musk&Trump to attack

Interesting to have a discussion here on social media (ok, Bluesky, the nicer person’s platform) in which a lot of people seem broadly agreed that really we’d all be better off if this whole damn social media thing hadn’t been invented and we were all doing something else.

Rightwing Labour always thinks it can achieve big things in the US by acting clever-clever, sucking up to whoever’s in power and bleating about a ‘special relationship’. They’d do better to develop some principles.

That is great, never heard it before. Thanks so much for posting it.
