My views are not those of my employer!
A quick walk in the woods before work today and I encountered this gorgeous tree fern (Mamaku) with the light just peeping through the canopy.

This one is at 12.15pm today. Sovery high in the sky at the moment.

I never get bored of looking at the moon. This was on Friday 14th, so bright the sky was much lighter than normal.

Here's one of my locally resident Cali's. Absolutely love these little guys. He was on guard duty as the family moved through my garden. I can't legitimately use the hashtag as it is Wednesday morning here in NZ!

A gorgeous male Californian Quail keeping overwatch on his girls and chicks. I love seeing them all around at this time of year. On the retaining wall in my garden.

Yikes. Not on the scale of LA but still not nice having a fire this close.

A cute little kotare (NZ Kingfisher) in my garden. They perch on the fence and hunt skinks.

Ollie's favourite place to be, in his Happytails box. He has chewed the edges down to allow a better view of what is going on around him.

Found an interesting stick insect in the garden this week; it is like a prickly stick insect but not prickly, so not too sure what she actually is. Very lovely little insect, I relocated her where she can be safe.

I wish there was smellovision on here, this jasmine smelled wonderful and I would have liked to share that. Sadly considered a pest plant in Northland.

I'm not really sure what this tree is, it has large waxy leaves, little red flowers and these enormous dark seed pods. We have a few around Whangarei and I rather like them.

We didn't get the full beauty, too far north, but I took this one using my phone with the Southern Cross in shot.

Not the best shot, but the Worm moon reflected in the waters of Whangarei harbour. Taken on my phone from the bathroom window because it was so bright and beautiful.

Happily deactivated my Xitter account now, I've finally decided I don't need it in my life (after 12 years). Also happy as I am off to the #GoogleChampions Symposium in Sydney in just a week and a half!

I love this English oak in Kamo. The tree is quite large compared to trees in England because of the more moderate climate here. /|\
