Outdoor tomatoes from the allotment, 5th Nov: Moneymaker & Sungold still producing. One last courgette on what I thought was a dead plant. Buff-tailed (I think) Bumblebees on the borage & Phacelia flowers. Late lettuces weirdly undamaged by molluscs (I'll regret saying that).

I don't drive, but this the view from my window -which also steals my light. Nobody asked me, & I've never had the chance to vote about this. And yes, the wheels are up on the pavement -there's a white line allocating part of the pedestrian walkway to parking.

The view from my downstairs window. They are allocated a chunk of the pavement, but still take up so much of our narrow Victorian street that drivers of similar vehicles have to slow down to pass between. The one directly in front will probably sit there stealing our light for the rest of the week.

Crossover month. Greenhouse tomatoes still doing well; even the outdoor plants still producing a few. No sign of blight. 2nd lot of courgettes, sown late June. Leeks finally getting to a good size, better late etc, & more kale -Tuscan, Red Russian, Pentland Brig -than we can keep up with.

Andrea at CABS said “this is the biggest ever series of raids on illegal trappers here in Cyprus. Usually the authorities organise a token raid at the end of the season to make it look like they are taking serious action"

Fundraiser for CABS will be closing soon.

More police than saddos w/ banners at this demo. Any idea when & where it was taken, & also where they are based? Their website is a bit shy on geographical details.

From Kent-set Great Expectations:

"He pretended that his Christian name was #Dolge—a clear Impossibility—but he was a fellow of that obstinate disposition that I believe him ...wilfully to have imposed that name upon the village as an affront to its understanding."

The problem is Cambridge is surrounded by Cambridgeshire, where the thinking on transport is very different to that in the city. Viz Bristow pledging to reopen Mill Rd bridge.

"Cambridge brand" is right. Monetised for all it's worth these days, as pic below shows. ("Masters in all day comfort"...)
