More fun with vibe coding. A ridiculously long, multi-file response for what should have been a five-line change in code. It’s hard to believe it’s not doing this in purpose. But on the other hand I could see it trying to be overly helpful. I still have a better context window.

I regret to inform you that multi-billion-dollar AI tools can still be pretty dumb.

Claude still can’t get the current year correct, but at least it sees the humor in it.

Really kinda interesting to see Apple use the registration mark in its headline for the F1 deal. Damned near unprecedented, if not the first time.

That attention to detail just shines though.

How to make sure folks don't see emails till it's too late.

Try not to spend it all in one place …

More fun with vibe coding. Took the precipitation scraper from my email weatherbot project and am using it to trigger skips for my sprinkler system instead of the built-in setting, which was turning my grass brown while also trying to upsell me.

That awkward moment when the AI with billions of dollars behind it tells you to delete the file that it literally just had you add something to.

THE FUTURE!!!!!

(I’m no coder, but I’m also not this dumb. Usually.)

I think I've decided vibe coding is not a crime.

Put together a fun little project for the youth soccer league I help with. Automatically generated weather-info emails for game days, with logic for time of day and NEXRAD storm predictions.

Testing a Nest Home Max as if it’s any other Nest camera is kinda cool … and kinda weird.

Sunglasses are decidedly NOT the place you want adaptive audio. Couldn’t turn that off fast enough.

It’s a small detail, but I rather enjoy having a little red car now in Google Maps.

Ladies and gentlemen, THE FUTURE.

Another morning full of aborted landing attempts at #KPNS, this time thanks to fog. And we have more severe weather on the way.

Need a palate cleanser? I sneaked in a few minutes of 📸 for the league I volunteer at and rebuilt a little part of my soul. These kids are so great.

Sending a kid to college is basically like attending a very expensive stand-up set.
March 5, 2025 at 4:51 PM
This is absolutely unnecessary and still very, very cool.
