I suppose I was partly inspired by the title of Paradise Lost to write this poem in 1986, when I was studying Paradise Lost for A-level English Literature. But I had my own take on things.

It's starting to melt now, but you can see how much snowfall there was last night from the amount settled on the table in my back garden. I haven't been out to measure it. Photo taken from my kitchen doorway.
