On this day last year: Chris Blackburn's photo captures 507003 and 507029 arriving at Southport. By this time, 507 operations were reduced to a couple of morning and evening peak journeys to and from Southport. 28th November 2024 was the final day of 507s in passenger service.

Cedric was preparing to take a stopping goods up to Tidmouth when he heard Hermes' whistle. Cedric was rather surprised, unaware that Hermes was piloting in Vicarstown Yard. He hadn't even seen the small green engine until then, but sure enough, Hermes pulled in with a rake of stone trucks in tow.
Hermes then casually broke it to Cedric that he'd brought them from Knapford Junction - on the other side of the island. As Cedric struggled to wrap his funnel around how a four wheeled saddle tank engine could take an entire train - of any capacity - across an 80 mile main line without issue, Hermes informed Cedric of how he'd occasionally taken the post train overnight, something that really threw the bigger green engine for a loop.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:5jvtoggbymkbodoe4dljn6lq/bafkreih6exq5pbbn7cljmdg24dycpkityzsg3oezw56emy65lhydp36dny@jpeg)

Someone pointed out to me that dolphins look like helicopters and that got me wondering what a dolphin would look like in the cars universe. Like, if McQueen were to go on a cruise ship, what would we see in place of a dolphin hopping out of the water?
