I had a wonderful night at the Pen To Print awards a few weeks ago.

Met the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham, got a certificate and a pen (I love an engraved pen), and I spoke with lots of lovely people.

Just need to finish the book now for publication next year.

Finger shows up surprisingly often in my WIP - Vigilantes Anonymous.
Poppy had called Todd while he was on his way home from work. One of the members had been talking to the receptionist at the community centre and had informed them he was into IT. Or apparently had been referred to as a ‘full on nerd’, which he assumed was Freya’s handiwork. They had an IT problem. He had been offered up to fix the IT problem. When he arrived he went to speak to the receptionist. ‘I hear you have an IT problem?’ he said, tapping the top of her monitor with his finger. ‘Not with that. The computer is fine,’ the receptionist said, short-spoken as ever. ‘OK. Other IT issues then?’ ‘Cigarette butts.’ ‘You know what IT stands for?’ he asked. ‘We have someone who smokes outside the club and constantly leaves cigarette butts on the ground. It’s disgusting.’ ‘Agreed,’ he said. ‘But still not seeing the IT angle. Someone said you needed help with..’ ‘The doorbell. We have a video doorbell that is in that bit to the left of the main door. I don’t know how to use the thing other than to watch live when someone presses the button. Should be some recordings on it.’

I did a thing! Finalist in the Book Challenge. I will work with a mentor for the next year to get the book ready for publication in mid 2026.
